TIA: internal carotid vs. vertebrobasilar Mnemonic


MD vs. DPM

  Internal carotid:
Monocular blindness (amaurox fugax)
Dominant hemisphere (apahsia)
  The weakness or numbness is still less in the legs. 


 Vetebrobasilar:
Diplopia/ Double blindness
Paralysis (quadriplesia)
Motor weakness (ipsilateral)
 Ataxia is characteristic in veterbrobasilar lesions.
