NODOSUM

NO cause is found in 60% of cases

Drug (iodides, bromides, sulfonamides)

Oral contraceptives

Sarcoidosis or. Löfgren's syndrome

Ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, Behçet's

Microbiology: any chronic infection (bacterial, viral, yersinia, tuberculosis, leprosy, deep fungal)

Lesion are rounded nodules which are bright red or purplish

These are tender and warm

They are classically described in shins but can present on other parts of the body

Systemic symptoms like fever, malaise, arthralgia and malaise may be present

They generally disappear in 1-6 weeks without sequelae
